|Is there a suggested method for testing a computer for hardware failure?
We have a pretty simple behavioral experiment where subjects are simply naming an object as it appears on the screen. On one of our testing laptop, Presentation and the OS crash, requiring a hard reboot of the computer. It's a different spot in the experiment every time.
Running this same experiment on a variety of other computers do not crash. Even a duplicate computer of the exact same model and specs doesn't crash.
Therefore, I think the problem is with the machine. I've tried testing the memory and hard drive and haven't found any issues yet. Since it's a sound response task, maybe the sound card is at fault? Just wondering if you have any suggestions for testing the hardware to try and find the culprit.
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
